Default Increased hard mode lockpick luck bonus

As the title says, I think it would be a good idea to increase the luck bonus you get from retaining a lockpick in hard mode. And, the unlucky points should be increased in normal mode where it is easier to retain lockpicks.

As it stands, is there really a bonus to opening chests in hard mode? There is an increase in gold items, maybe a tome or and elite tome now and then, but mainly it feels just like opening a normal mode chest.

This suggestion isn't really about those monetary rewards though. I have a 58% chance of retention in normal mode, and a 28% chance in hard mode. Doesn't it only make sense that I would get more lucky points in hard mode where my chance of retention is significantly less, and will always be?

What are your thoughts?

Honstley does make sense.

Now would the lucky/unlucky stay the same or would they increase/decreas aswell.

Like maybe if you have a 58% chance in NM, you get less lucky points. Who knows, but I like the idea.

change = bad

leave things the way they are.. Anet has enough to think about without changing things that work fine (albeit slow.)

Hm.. this is a nasty one...
Many people use Ascalon chests to increase faster the lucky title...

But lockpicks actully ahve different percentages depending on the key required to open it....

Maybe just double lucky in hard mode and double unlucky in normal mode would do the trick....

Actually, change = good, but thanks for your (albeit completely useless) input.

It should be increased based on simple logic and the whole principle of gambling itself: with greater risks come greater rewards. That is the whole point of gambling.

Although I do think the chance of getting a gold are better in HM for a chest, because I got 5 purples and 5 broken lockpicks in a row in NM.

Change for change's sake is pointless most of the time.

Sounds like the OP is just frustrated with constantly breaking picks... (So am I.)

I like that response, made me chuckle. ^^

I would agree with the double points for one or the other in hm or nm.

I also like how with some titles when you equip them you get some sort of bonus relating to it. I would like to see that with all of them. With lucky increasing your chance to retain a lockpick wouldnt be that bad of an idea. But what would we do for unlucky?... random chance of pants falling down?...

lucky = retaining 10.000 lps
unlucky = breaking 20.000 lps

something wrong there ^ at least double the unlucky points earned when u break a lockpick so it's fair

also i thing the lockpicks are somehow broken in kind of meaning bugged ...

lockpicks imo break in last time much more, then for like some months ago ...

my last 20 lockpicks did al break in a row ..none didn#t break ...this is eather heavily bad luck...or they are bugged
even at HM, where the chance of not breakign is like 30%, this would mean, every 3rd key doesn't break ...

I think you missed my point earlier - I could not give two #$%^s about lucky and unlucky titles. I think the whole idea behind lockpicks is up to $%^&. I would bloody well rather have proper effing keys.

I think its a great idea. Ive always wondered since they started the whole lockpick/lucky/unlucky stuff why it is the way it is.
